Shreeja India

Shreeja India was started in 2017 to empower young women from underprivileged backgrounds in eastern India through the sport of soccer. This theme of this organization is "healthy body, healthy mind." Shreeja uses sports to foster self-esteem, teamwork, and leadership among these young women, and helps combat school drop-outs, early marriages, and domestic violence against women. This program currently runs a center-based program at Rajnagar, Birbhum, West Bengal, and three non-center programs at Park Circus (Kolkata), North Kolkata, and Dhatrigram in West Bengal, and is cosponsored by Kolkata Police.

Voice of World

Voice of World (VoW) is a social welfare organization that has served blind, disabled, and abandoned children in India since 1992. It provides school-level education, room and board, and rehabilitation services, along with extra-curricular opportunities, such as mountain trekking, sports, and music, to this population. Currently, VoW serves about 300 residential beneficiaries and close to 2,000 non-residential beneficiaries. Over the last 26 years, they have set up 22 centers in different parts of West Bengal and one each in Delhi and Puri, Odisha. Its main headquarters are located in Behala, Kolkata.

MacDonald Training Center

Founded in 1953 by J. Clifford MacDonald, MacDonald Training Center (MTC) provides job training and supported employment to people with physical and intellectual disabilities. People with hearing disabilities, autism, and Down syndrome work with employment coaches to build job skills and soft skills, and maximize their independence in activities of daily living, including personal health and safety, socialization, decision making, communication, and community inclusion. MTC procures corporate contracts, such as Florida Sunpass packaging, that employs these people in a productive capacity.

Ronald McDonald House Charities



Tampa, FL, USA



Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) provides a "home away from home" for families whose children are admitted to hospital in critical condition. Starting in 1980 as Florida's first RMHC, RMHC Tampa Bay provides 80 bedrooms in four houses and hot meals for families of children receiving treatment at four Tampa Bay pediatric hospitals. Momo's parents were personally touched by the kindness of RMHC when Momo was admitted to Johns Hopkins All Childrens Hospital at St. Petersburg, FL for the last few days of his life.

Indore, MP, India



Mahila Jagat Lihaaz Samiti (MAJLIS), which translates into Society for Respect for Women and Earth, is an organization that empowers Dalit and Adivasi women in Madhya Pradesh, one of India's poorest states, while also contributing to environmental conservation. MAJLIS promotes women's education, health and livelihoods through sustainable agriculture practices, forest, soil and water conservation, and use of renewable energy.

Akshar Forum Model School



Guwahati, Assam, India



Akshar is a free model school in Guwahati that provides education and vocational training to underprivileged students in India, who would otherwise be child laborers. It employs older students as mentors and role models for younger students, builds work ethic among teenagers, and helps them learn communication, leadership, and compassion. It also fosters environmental sustainability by accepting as tuition 25 pieces of disposable plastics (e.g., single-use bottles) as "tuition" per month that are recycled into construction and other usable products.
